Restorative Solutions For Your Smiles !
Broken or missing teeth take a toll on your confidence. We can help you reclaim your smile!
Living with a missing tooth or a broken tooth presents many daily challenges. Eating and chewing may be difficult and you might find yourself hiding your smile if you’re embarrassed about damaged teeth or lost teeth. Here at Rayside Dental, we offer simple solutions you can trust to restore your teeth and have you smiling your best smile again.
A dental crown is an excellent solution for a decayed, fractured, or broken tooth that cannot be repaired with a filling. A crown is a dental restoration that fits over your remaining tooth to replace its entire structure and protect your natural root and remaining tooth structure. Dr. Racicot may recommend a tooth crown in these situations:
To restore a cracked or broken tooth
For replacing a large old filling or crown
To strengthen a tooth that has had root canal treatment
To restore a severely decayed tooth
Most crowns are made of ceramic porcelain for aesthetic purposes. In some circumstances, porcelain fused to metal crowns are used for teeth that take the brunt of your chewing force. Gold may also be used for molars as it provides excellent strength and durability for chewing. We discuss these options with you to decide what dental crowns are best for your individual situation.
Replace Missing Teeth With Fixed Bridges
A fixed dental bridge is designed with an artificial tooth that sits in the open space. The artificial tooth is attached to crowns on adjacent teeth for support. If you have two missing teeth in the same spot, Dr. Racicot may recommend a dental implant for added stability. When we place a bridge, Dr. Racicot follows a similar process as that for placing crowns. He prepares your anchor teeth for the crowns, takes impressions, and sends all our specifications to a custom dental lab that custom crafts your restoration. When your bridge is ready, you'll return to our office, and we will cement it securely in place.
Dental crowns and bridges are effective restorations when teeth are lost or severely damaged. Our crowns and bridges look natural and offer much-needed assistance with chewing and speaking. We use high-quality materials in our crowns and bridges to ensure the restorations last as long as possible and provide exceptional performance. We ensure your dental crowns and bridges blend in seamlessly with your existing teeth and will function like natural teeth. You can expect to make a minimum of two visits when receiving dental crowns or bridges. We use the first visit to make impressions of your teeth and then send those impressions to a dental laboratory. Once the crown or bridge is ready, you can return to have it fitted and ensure it fits properly.
